In our third grade class we are researching different whales and dolphins. Mine is the Hector’s Dolphin. It is very beautiful.
The Hector’s Dolphin has a gray forehead with black streaks. Some people confuse it for blue. It has a phenomenal white belly that curves like a fork. The fluke has pointed tips. It has dark gray fins that lean back. One of the most interesting things about them is that they have a little white patch behind each flipper. It’s extravagant dorsal fin curves back. Right before the rim of the dorsal fin it magically turns black. The Hector’s Dolphin is very tapered. The belly is white and reaches to the mouth. Black flippers with a tint of blue. And the rest of the body is gray. So if you are ever in New Zealand look for a Hector’s dolphin because as I told you they are very beautiful.
