I think the beaked whales are very strange looking creatures. This particular kind of whale looks especially unusual. The Blainville’s Beaked Whale has a gray body, with a light patch on their underside. Tan and grayish white blotches are all over their bodies. All Blainville’s Beaked Whales have an arched lower jaw. Males have large teeth erupting from their lower jaw. Blainville’s Beaked Whales have a small dorsal fin. Adults weigh about 1 ton. A newborn weighs 130 pounds. The Blainville’s Beaked Whale eats squid and fish. It lives mainly off the Atlantic coast of the U.S.A. Before studying this whale I thought it very strange and ugly but now I think it is very interesting. It is one of my favorite animals.
